Demet Güral

Pathfinder's Vice President of Technical and Program Strengthening, Demet Güral is a physician and a public health specialist with more than 25 years of experience in sexual and reproductive health programs and primary health care management.

As Vice President of Technical and Program Strengthening, Demet oversees the implementation of Pathfinder strategies through her supervision of the Programs Systems, Technical Services, and Research & Metrics Units.

Early in her career, Demet served as a valuable member of Pathfinder. From 1996-1998, she served as the Chief of Party for Pathfinder’s award-winning Comprehensive Postpartum Project in Amman, Jordan. In the years prior, she served as Associate Director for Asia/Near East, Regional Medical Director, and Pathfinder’s Country Representative for Turkey.

Some Career Successes:

  • Served as Executive Director of Willows Foundation, which has extensive reproductive health programs in Turkey and Ghana. There, she focused on integrating community-based services and finding innovative ways to reach out to underserved populations.
  • Served as Executive Director for the Human Resource Development Foundation in Turkey, where she established a diversity program in sexual reproductive health and rights for vulnerable groups in Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan.
  • Initiated the first NGO anti-human trafficking program in Turkey and raised more than $1.5 million to support the program.
