This summary review provides analysis of Pathfinder-Egypt's Takamol project and includes description of program strategy and evaluation results. Takamol employed a two-pronged approach of health system strengthening and community capacity building to address the full breadth of the reproductive health (RH) service delivery value chain, from supplier to user.
Pursuing true country ownership for effective programs requires a long-term approach involving persistence, keen understanding of counterparts' perspective, deference, building trust, focus on priorities, technical competence, and sustained optimism.
