Beyond AIDS - Supporting Ethiopian Women to Access Cervical Cancer Screening
This brief provides a concise overview of recent activities of the Addis Tesfa cervical cancer prevention project in Ethiopia. Addis Tesfa brings highly effective, yet very simple, cervical cancer prevention methods to women living with HIV. The brief touches on Pathfinder’s work building the capacity of health care providers in the single-visit approach (where cervical cancer screening and treatment of precancerous lesions occur during the same visit), as well as the project’s efforts to raise awareness of cervical cancer among women living with HIV and plans for scaling up the single-visit approach throughout the country.
This toolkit contains 17 tools designed to help health care providers and program planners set up, ensure the quality of, and monitor single-visit approach (also known as “see-and-treat”) services for the prevention of cervical cancer.
In a year of remarkable achievement, including Pathfinder’s landmark victory at the US Supreme Court and our return to Bangladesh with a $53.8 million project, what was most exciting? The answer—integration—is the theme of Pathfinder’s 2013 Annual Report.
