The Right to Safe Motherhood for Every Woman, Everywhere
In this Summer 2013 edition of Pathways, we explore our global work in safe motherhood, sharing the inspiring story of Grace and Benson, a couple living with HIV who were able to keep their baby free from the virus with the help of the Pathfinder-led APHIAplus Nairobi-Coast program in Kenya. The issue also explores Pathfinder's "continuum of care” approach to preventing and managing postpartum hemorrhage in India and Nigeria, with assistance from the non-pneumatic, anti-shock garment.
A TRAIL intervention in Burundi focused on three behavioral objectives; for each objective a video was produced using information from Pathways to Change to illustrate the problems associated with the objective.
With the support of the MacArthur Foundation, since 2007 Pathfinder International has implemented the Continuum of Care: Addressing Postpartum Hemorrhage project to prevent and manage PPH in India and Nigeria.
