We are living through uncertain and unprecedented times. COVID-19 has hit hard in several of the countries where we operate, and is just gaining a foothold in others. We are closely monitoring the virus and implementing rapid-response plans in each country we serve.
During these times of uncertainty, we are committed to:
Our underlying mission: we will put the health and well-being of women, girls, their families, and their communities at the forefront of our decisions by implementing new safety guidelines and norms, rapidly adapting the way we work to protect Pathfinders and the communities we serve and devising new ways of providing critical sexual and reproductive health care during this unprecedented time.
Continuing to work on the frontlines, with governments and within existing health systems — working as partners in the fight against COVID-19. We will work with our partners to strengthen health systems in a way that ensures they can withstand shocks and crises in the future, while maintaining critical sexual and reproductive health services, and protecting our staff and the health workers at the heart of our programs.
Continuing to serve vulnerable communities during times of emergency and instability by remaining nimble, responsive, and resilient. We are ready to adapt—building on the evidence base and learning and adapting as we go—to continue to reach women and girls with critical services throughout the COVID-19 global emergency.
Supporting the women and girls we serve to be resilient. These women and girls are often community caregivers, making them particularly vulnerable to illness and vital to keeping our local communities running. We are committed to supporting them to stay healthy and be resilient by giving them the resources they need and strengthening health systems on which they rely.
Protecting community health workers and health providers working on the frontlines who are at the heart of our programs. We are dedicated to keeping them safe and resilient as they continue to perform their life-saving work.
Supporting women’s and girls’ sexual and reproductive health and rights through uninterrupted access to contraception, maternal and newborn care, HIV treatment, safe abortion care, and other vital services.
