As a prominent Africa-led global health convening, this biennial conference spotlights diverse and dynamic voices from across sectors – ranging from world leaders to technical experts to community health workers – to collectively chart a course forward towards UHC.

Climate and Health: Empowering Women and Youth to Drive Climate Solutions
March 9, 3:15 – 4:14 pm EAT

This session, led by Pathfinder International, will highlight efforts to address the impact of climate change on health across Africa. The session will focus on the importance of women’s leadership in addresssing issues of climate, and how young people in Africa are being affected by climate change and engaged in the climate justice movement.

Town Hall: Women’s leadership in health

Pathfinder’s Lydia Saloucou Zoungrana, Country Director in Burkina Faso, will speak at this Town Hall session hosted by AMREF Health Africa. This informal, moderated Q&A session will adapt a gender lens to look at leadership in Africa and examine how more women can claim seats at the decision-making table.

Interactive Discussion: Networking for Novel Solutions at the Nexus of Women and Climate
March 9, 5:20pm – 6:20pm EAT

This interactive side session, hosted by Pathfinder International and Women Deliver, will follow the main session listed above, bringing together individuals working on issues related to women and climate in Africa. During the session, participants will create new connections and identify high-impact ideas to advance women-led climate solutions at scale. Participants will be asked to answer the question: If you had unlimited resources, what game-changing, women-led solutions to climate change would you propose?
