Achieving UHC: Catalytic Partnerships to Strengthen Health Systems

Wednesday, May 25 at 9 am ET

UHC will not be achieved without a significant change in how health care is delivered. The current facility-based system cannot be expanded sufficiently to achieve health for all. Digitization and innovations have been made possible through government partnerships with other non-state actors. Leveraging these partnerships to strengthen national health information and surveillance systems, and empower communities to effectively detect and respond to epidemics and other health emergencies has great potential for improving public health globally.

This session aims to challenge global health players including governments, donors, health practitioners, and advocates to sustain a sharp focus on strengthening PHC systems. To ground the conversation, the session will tap country experience in ensuring service continuity amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the supportive digital tools needed,  the role of civil society partnerships in strengthening health systems, and understanding health systems strengthening from a donor perspective.
