The Acacia Circle is an active community of Next Gen who strive to advance Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights globally by serving as ambassadors for Pathfinder.

Next Gen who join the Acacia Circle are passionate advocates, philanthropists, and leaders. Through their involvement, members deepen their understanding of the sector and use their voice, their networks, and their financial support to enable men and women to make their own decisions about their health.

What will I do as a member?

The Acacia Circle program strives to give members the information and skills needed to confidently serve as advocates and ambassadors for improved sexual and reproductive health and rights around the world. Using this knowledge, Acacia Circle members will:

  • Amplify key messages and spread awareness on the importance of and gaps in sexual and reproductive health
  • Mobilize their community to learn more about sexual and reproductive health and get involved in Pathfinder’s work through informal events, campaigns, and social media
  • Activate by contributing time, talent and skills, or financial resources to key initiatives hosted by the Acacia Circle

What will I gain from joining?

Through involvement in the Acacia Circle, members will deepen their understanding of Pathfinder’s work, build their network, and grow as advocates and philanthropists. Membership includes access to:

  • A network of like-minded advocates to connect with and learn from
  • Exclusive learning opportunities and trainings on philanthropy, advocacy, and sexual and reproductive health
  • Regional U.S. events with Pathfinder leaders and global health peers
  • Unique opportunities to travel overseas to visit Pathfinder’s programs
  • Involvement in initiatives that advance Pathfinder’s programming
  • A monthly newsletter with key highlights, unique insight into Pathfinders work, and upcoming events
  • Pathfinder swag to show off a commitment to gender equality and global health

Who is membership open to?

This inclusive community is open to the most passionate Next Gen who are eager to both engage with Pathfinder and advocate for gender equality and improved sexual and reproductive health. This group may include, for example:

Protect Communities in Mozambique: Past Fundraiser for COVID-19

At the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, Acacia Circle members rallied to raise funds to protect Pathfinder staff and partners in Mozambique. The over $12,000 raised provided essential PPE for Pathfinder staff, community network partners, and support for a messaging platform to keep community members updated on COVID-19 prevention and send key sexual and reproductive health messages.

After Six Months after COVID-19: What’s at Stake for Global Reproductive Health and Rights?

Lockdowns, stockouts, economic disasters, and more are changing where women and families access critical reproductive health care, how they get those services, and even what types of care they need. Pathfinder has been there, adapting and working, throughout the pandemic in some of the highest-need countries around the world. Alyssa Patmos, a member of Pathfinder’s Acacia Circle, joined Crystal Lander, Pathfinder’s Executive Director of Global Affairs, to discuss the biggest risks to reproductive health and rights around the world, what we were seeing on the ground in the countries we serve, and how Pathfinder is adapting and continuing our critical work in the face of COVID-19.

#NextGenGenerosity: Giving Tuesday NOW Campaign with the Keep Families Giving Foundation

Next-Gen communities and leaders from across the globe teamed up with #GivingTuesdayNow in response to urgent COVID-19 needs with a global day of giving and unity. Led by the Keep Families Giving Foundation, Next Generation philanthropists and communities from all over the world rallied together to share acts of generosity and fundraise for critical needs during this pandemic. From April 28th-May 26th, Pathfinder’s Acacia Circle joined peer organizations and groups to inspire and amplify Next Gen acts of generosity for COVID-19 response efforts.
