FHM Engagement Project: Health Markets for Healthy People

FHM Engage improves the functioning of local health markets in USAID priority countries and supports the strategic engagement of the private sector to advance health outcomes in areas including family planning, maternal newborn and child health, malaria, HIV and AIDS, and tuberculosis. The project enhances the quality of, and access to, health services and products for women and children by identifying the root causes of underperforming markets and co-designing solutions with local partners for sustainable change.

Project Date: 2021 - present
Funder: USAID (led by Chemonics and a consortium of core partners, including Results for Development (R4D), Pathfinder, and Zenisys, with 17 network implementation partners)

What We Do

  • Support local actors to diagnose market challenges, design and co-create solutions, deliver and execute implementation plans, and adapt solutions using science to adjust approaches.
  • Improve the quality of family planning (FP) and reproductive health (RH) services.
  • Leverage opportunities for economies of scale within private sector networks to enhance access to FP.
  • Promote youth-driven demand strategies to strengthen priority youth markets for FP/RH information, products, and services.
