This curriculum is intended to train physicians, nurses, midwives, and community-based health care providers (including community health workers and skilled birth attendants) in the skills and techniques necessary to implement a comprehensive continuum of care approach to preventing and managing postpartum hemorrhage. It is designed to actively involve the participants in the learning process. Sessions include simulation skills practice, discussions, case studies, role plays and clinical practice, using objective knowledge, attitude, and skills checklists. It includes both a trainer’s guide and participant’s guide.
It is strongly recommended that the curriculum is used in conjunction with the Prevention and Management of Postpartum Hemorrhage Clinical Training Video.
