This report summarizes the findings from an end-of-project qualitative evaluation conducted in November and December of 2014. This evaluation explored CSO perceptions related to the impact of Pathfinder’s support through Iniciativa through a series of focus group discussions.
Capacity building projects benefit substantially from this kind of qualitative analysis as they offer insights into perceptions of organizational change which might not otherwise be captured. This evaluation led to a number of findings primarily related to the nature of the relationship between an organization providing technical support, like Pathfinder, and the recipients of that support. These findings highlighted the critical nature of this relationship, and provided some concrete ways to ensure that sufficient investment is made up-front to create an enabling environment for change which will produce meaningful and sustainable results.
