Meet Bruno Ki

Technical Director, Burkina Faso
“Early in my career, I learned that the main cause of malnutrition can be traced to family planning—specifically the short time between births. I have dedicated my career to ensuring more women have information on family planning and access to the method of their choice.”

Dr. Bruno Ki joined our team in 2016 as the technical director in Burkina Faso. In his role, he manages the implementation of projects that offer high quality family planning and safe abortion care.

Before joining Pathfinder, Bruno worked at Burkina Faso’s Ministry of Health in the northern region. He was responsible for community-based activities, including programs that addressed severe acute malnutrition and child and maternal mortality. With Marie Stopes International, he pioneered the country’s mobile tubal ligation strategy—performing more than 4,000 tubal ligations over five years (equivalent to 40,000 couple years of protection). In this work, he led the training of clinical staff in managing medical emergencies and coordinated clinical research activities within the organization, including building a training and mentoring curriculum on tubal ligation.

He received his MD from the University of Ouagadougou in 2008, his MPH from the University of Alexandria (Egypt), his University Diploma in nutritional epidemiology from the University of Bordeaux, and a sexual and reproductive health certificate from the Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research. He speaks English and French.
