Meet Cheryl Margoluis

Dr. Cheryl Margoluis has 20 years of experience working in international development, 15 of those living in Latin America. She has served as a researcher with The Nature Conservancy, Biodiversity Support Program, Biodiversity Conservation Network, Organization for Tropical Studies, as a professor with Pitzer College, and as a long-term consultant for the World Wildlife Fund, USAID, and Conservation International. She joined Pathfinder in 2014.

In addition to her extensive population, health, & environment; monitoring & evaluation; and research experience, Cheryl worked with adolescents and youth for over ten years through a green school she founded and directed in Costa Rica.

Cheryl works in a job share partnership with Cara Honzak. Cheryl and Cara are known in partnership as co-authors on the first manual for the conservation sector on integrating family planning and reproductive health into conservation projects.

She has a PhD in forestry and environmental studies from Yale University, MS in conservation biology from Yale, and a BA in anthropology and biology from the University of California San Diego. She speaks English and Spanish and is really trying to learn Swahili.
