Fabio Castano is a widely recognized expert in reproductive health, family planning, and maternal and child health. He brings over 20 years of experience directing, designing, implementing, and evaluating complex projects in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia. He has substantial experience advising countries and international agencies on policy change, health reform, and implementation strategies in support of improving universal access to sexual and reproductive health. He joined Pathfinder in 2018.
Before joining Pathfinder, he worked for UNFPA, EngenderHealth, Planned Parenthood, the President of Colombia, and most recently for Management Sciences for Health as their global technical lead for reproductive health & family planning. He currently serves as a visiting professor at Alicante University in Spain and the Amrita University’s Institute of Medical Sciences in Kerala, India.
He earned his MD degree from Universidad El Bosque and his MPH from University of California Los Angeles. He speaks English and Spanish.
