Judy Kahrl is a longtime supporter of Pathfinder’s work around the world. As a daughter of Dr. Clarence J. Gamble, Pathfinder’s founder, Judy grew up in a family where reproductive health was dinner table conversation.
Judy has visited our programs in Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Peru, Mozambique, India, and Vietnam. Her conservation interests led her to see the interrelationship of reproductive health and the environment, an idea that contributed to Pathfinder’s adoption of Population, Health, & Environment programming.
In 2013, Judy established Grandmothers for Reproductive Rights, known by its acronym, GRR. Collectively, Judy and women of her generation advocate for the reproductive rights, justice, and health care for which their generation fought so hard.
She graduated from Radcliffe College and earned her PhD in adult education at Ohio State University. Judy and her late husband, Stan, have four children.
