Meet Ketsela Desalegn

Ketsela Desalegn (MD, MPH) works as a Sexual Reproductive Health coordinator for the GAC funded the ‘Her Future, Her Choice (HFHC) project and as a OF-POP technical advisor for Pathfinder here in Ethiopia. Since 2008, Ketsela has held various roles, Regional Program Manager and as an FPR/RH and gender program staff member. In these, he has contributed from his vast experience as a physician and as a public health expert in Family Planning, SRH, Gender, Obstetric Fistula, Pelvic Organ Prolapse, AYRH and CAC as a trainer, mentor, project manager and coordinator.

Before joining Pathfinder, Ketsela worked as SRH/FP provider and head of the SRH model clinic for 5 years, for the IPPF affiliated Family Guidance Association Ethiopia (FGAE). Prior to that, he also served as head and managing director of Leku district public hospital in Ethiopia. He gained notable experience in project management, fundraising, proposal writing, research, and small grant management.

Ketsela is a graduate of medicine (MD degree) from Addis Ababa University, and with a background public health study (MPH) from Hawassa University college of health sciences. He has also taken tens of high-level capacity enhancement trainings in FP, RH, CAC, Gender, Facilitative Supervision, SMART Advocacy, safe motherhood, online training courses all related to my area of practical assignment.
