Tricia Petruney brings more than 13 years of experience in advancing global sexual and reproductive health and rights to Pathfinder. She joined the organization in 2018 as our director of integrated community, social, and health systems. In this role, she advanced our vision for using community-centered, integrated, and whole-systems approaches to improve global sexual and reproductive health and rights. In 2019, she accepted the role of project director for Act With Her project, which aims to facilitate positive adolescent transitions to adulthood for girls ages 10-19 and offers a key platform for contributing to global evidence generation and learning.
With FHI 360 for more than ten years, Tricia spent six years conducting research uptake, advocacy, capacity building, and technical assistance to strengthen the policy, funding, and programmatic linkages between the reproductive health and HIV & AIDS sectors. This entailed long-term stakeholder engagement in more than 15 countries, and helping to mobilize national policy change for integrated family planning and HIV & AIDS in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, and South Africa. Tricia then spent four years as the lead advisor for FHI 360’s strategic initiative to advance ‘integrated development’ solutions, linking health, education, environment, and economic development approaches to produce more collective impact.
She received her BA from Syracuse University and her MA in development and international affairs from The New School.
