Chief of Party

Dr. Aguima “Frank” Tankoano is a health professional with 32 years of experience managing complex international health programs with multicultural teams. He has supported programs in West Africa in health systems strengthening; sexual and reproductive health; family planning; maternal, newborn, and child health; HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections; and tuberculosis prevention and treatment.

He is currently the Chief of Party of the USAID-funded Amplify Family Planning and Sexual Reproductive Health (AmplifyPF)  project managed by Pathfinder International. Before joining AmplifyPF in August 2018, he served as Chief of Party for the Global Fund’s HIV prevention among key populations in Mali for 5 years, managed by Plan International. Before this role, he was Chief of Party of Promoting Malaria Prevention and Treatment (ProMPT) Ghana project, a four-year, USAID-funded project under the President’s Malaria Initiative.  He was also Chief of Party for the USAID Family Health project in Benin for 8 years with University Research Co.

Dr. Tankoano obtained an MPH at the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. A citizen of Burkina Faso, he is fluent in English and French and is a former Humphrey Fellow.
