
Senior Director, Digital Innovation
Darlene Irby has over 17 years of global experience in international and national information technology programs. She currently leads Pathfinder’s digital health strategy.
Darlene has led the implementation and deployment of digital health technologies as Principal and Co-Principal Investigator across several areas including HIV, reproductive health and family planning, malaria, global health security, and economic growth. She has worked in Cambodia, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Haiti, Indonesia, Liberia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Zambia, and Tanzania. With a focus on scalable and interoperable systems, Darlene has led in the development and implementation of point of care/electronic medical records, mobile data collection tools, referral systems, integrated laboratory information systems, and other data platforms.
Prior to joining Pathfinder, she was a senior leader at other international development organizations, where she led organizational digital transformations. She currently serves on the Advisory Boards of the Global Digital Health Network and data startup DataElevates and is Co-Chair of the Child Health Task Force Digital Health and Innovations Subgroup.
Darlene holds a bachelor’s degree with a double major in Economics and International Studies from Elmira College in New York, and a master’s degree in Economic and Social Development, with a certificate in International Political Economy from the University of Pittsburgh, where she received an academic fellowship.
