Douglas Alexander

Douglas Alexander was a Member of the UK Parliament for eighteen years, including as a Member of the British Cabinet under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown for nine years serving as the Secretary of State for International Development, the UK’s Governor to the World Bank, Secretary of State for Transport and the Minister for Europe.

He serves now as a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School, a Visiting Professor at King’s College, London,Trustee of the Royal United Services Institute, a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations and a Governor of the Ditchley Foundation. Alexander also serves as a Senior Advisor to the Rise Fund; a global impact fund, and to U2 Frontman Bono; advising on investment and development in Africa.

He graduated from the University of Edinburgh.
