Director, Business Development and Partnerships
A seasoned public health and development leader with over 16 years of experience, Matthew Nviiri is Pathfinder’s Director of Business Development and Partnerships.
In this role, Matthew leads the organization’s global strategy to diversify revenue, forge strategic partnerships, and drive the design of innovative, evidence-based programs that expand access to health services and place women and girls at the center of our work. He brings a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and deep donor engagement experience with key funders.
Prior to this role, Matthew served as Pathfinder’s Senior Advisor for Program Design and Technical Documentation. In this capacity, he spearheaded the development of high-value technical proposals, strengthened the capacity of country teams, and helped shape Pathfinder’s strategic positioning across Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East/North Africa region.
Before joining Pathfinder, Matthew held senior leadership roles with the Clinton Health Access Initiative, International Rescue Committee, Palladium, the Royal Tropical Institute, Netherlands, and Dalberg Data Insights. In these roles, he led efforts to strengthen health systems and improve access to health services in close partnership with national governments.
Matthew brings deep expertise in health systems strengthening, health financing, community health, humanitarian response, and human-centered program design that places women and girls at the forefront. His work spans some of the world’s most complex settings.
