Women and girls are at a higher risk for food insecurity, displacement, health complications, and exposure to violence when climate disasters strike. Around the world, we apply locally led solutions to climate and health resilience, delivering crucial services to women and girls while helping communities adapt to the climate crisis. We partner with women and young people to develop climate innovations based on local context and risks, elevating women and girls as climate champions who lead resilient, local, rights-based solutions to climate adaptation.

Our Pathways to Change
- Support climate-resilient health systems that provide continuous services, thereby reducing climate-related health risks.
- Address the human impacts of climate change through holistic, integrated, and human-centered approaches that give communities the tools to lead adaptation and manage the impacts of climate change.
- Promote the next generation of climate leaders and innovators by building the leadership capabilities of women and young people and enhancing their participation, voice, and agency in climate actions and decision-making.
Our Focus
- Enhancing health system resilience through coordination, preparedness, systems strengthening, advocacy, tools, training, equipment, and technical support.
- Leading multisectoral community mobilization and behavior change communication to advance gender-transformative climate-smart actions; climate emergency preparedness planning and response; uptake of adaptive practices; and integrated climate, environment, and livelihoods goals.
- Applying digital applications that integrate climate and health information for cost-effective knowledge dissemination, integrated data tracking, enhanced preparedness, and agile response to community needs.
- Integrating women’s leadership and economic development to accelerate women-led climate innovations, and advance women’s and girls’ voices in climate and health initiatives.
- Engaging in advocacy and technical capacity strengthening to support governments in integrating climate, health, and gender into their policies and strategic plans.
