Global Senior Advisor, Products and Strategic Engagement

A public health strategist and innovation leader, Oumar Onyango is Pathfinder’s Global Senior Advisor for Products and Strategic Engagement. In this role, Oumar drives the organization’s private sector engagement and social enterprise agenda, translating partnerships with governments, foundations, corporations, and multilateral institutions into market-relevant health innovations and scalable solutions. He brings a distinctive blend of strategic positioning, health financing expertise, and deep relationships across Africa’s impact investment and global health ecosystems.

Prior to this role, Oumar served as a Manager at Global Health Strategies, an international consulting and advocacy firm working at the intersection of public health, policy, and communications across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. In this capacity, he led high-level engagements with donors, multilaterals, bilaterals, NGOs, and the private sector on women and adolescent girls’ health, health systems strengthening, universal health coverage, and emerging health challenges.

Oumar has contributed to landmark continental initiatives, including Africa CDC’s Health Workforce Compact—an evidence-driven process spanning all 55 African Union Member States— and has championed African-led approaches to health program design and localization throughout his career.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
