Sofia Latif is a leader of grantmaking and global operations at Avaaz Foundation, a campaigning movement with over 65 million members, empowering people from all walks of life to take action on pressing global, regional and national issues, from corruption and poverty to conflict and climate change.
Formerly, Sofia served as Programme Development Advisor at the World Wide Web Foundation, an international organization that works to enhance the Web’s inherently egalitarian, universal and decentralized potential. She also co-founded Strategic Inspirations, a social impact firm focused on building the capacity of small to mid-size non-profits, and previously worked at the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) as a communications specialist.
Sofia holds an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business where she focused on strategy and social enterprise, a certificate in non-profit leadership from Georgetown University and a B.A. in journalism and political science from the University of Michigan – Dearborn. She was a fellow of the inaugural cohort of the American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute.
