Dr. Mary E. Taylor is a consultant and Associate Professor of Community Health at the Arctic University of Norway. She has devoted more than four decades to the promotion of essential public health services and systems for mothers and children in low-income countries around the world. A recognized expert on community-based service delivery and immunization programs, she has worked and lived in countries as diverse as Nepal, Ethiopia, Mali, Tanzania, Bangladesh, and Haiti. She also has evaluation and research experience with leadership, quality improvement, and health systems management. For seven years, she served as Senior Program Officer for Community Health Solutions at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and during that time led global health team efforts to expand their community health programs in Ethiopia.
