Africa Health Agenda International Conference 2025

The 6th Edition of the Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC) will take place on March 2–5, 2025 in Kigali, Rwanda. We look forward to joining participants, contributing to climate solutions and engaging in high-level conversations on localization, global health funding, development finance, and locally-led development.

The theme for AHAIC 2025 is “Connected for Change: Addressing Socio-Ecological Dynamics of Health.” AHAIC 2025 will bring together Africa’s top thought leaders, political figures, innovators, researchers, policy makers, health workers and community mobilisers for dialogue and action aimed at mainstreaming climate discourse into health policy conversations, and vice versa.

Jointly convened by Amref Health Africa, Ministry of Health Rwanda, WHO Africa, African Union and Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), this biennial conference will provide a platform for Africa to bring global attention to the undeniable link between climate change and health as the world inches closer to the 2030 Global Goals deadline.

During the conference, we will discuss best practices for implementing sexual and reproductive health rights programs in the context of climate change and share our expertise in localization through our innovative country-led strategy. Learn more at our featured event, Unpacking the Hidden Dynamics of Localization—see below for details.

Whether you’ll be on site in Kigali or attending virtually, follow #PathfinderAtAHAIC on social media for updates.

Date: Sunday, March 3, 2025 | Time: 2:00–3:30pm CAT
Themes: Localization, global health funding, development finance, locally-led development

This session will convene donor agencies, philanthropic institutions, local organizations, government representatives, and other stakeholders in a closed roundtable discussion. The discussion will focus on unpacking the dynamics of localization through the lens of funding flows from allocation to utilization to coalesce on what is best practice to leverage the best outcomes for local communities.

Lydia Saloucou Zoungrana, Pathfinder’s President – Africa, will speak on the panel.
