It felt really good that I could be a part of helping to keep my colleagues safe, that meant a lot to me.

Our 20+ country offices around the globe can continue safely providing sexual and reproductive health services thanks to a recent donation from Amazon. Tori Willis, Administrative Manager, received an invitation from Amazon Donation Hub for Pathfinder to access a selection of free personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning supplies that can help maintain safe environments for our employees and the communities we serve.

Tori instantly shared the news with Pathfinder’s COVID-19 Response Team, who worked with colleagues in the country offices to determine what was needed. Thanks to the teams’ quick work, we were able to procure nearly $10,000 worth of donated supplies. Soon after, Amazon delivered more than 300 boxes of PPE to our Watertown, MA office. The Watertown Administration Team worked together to package and ship PPE to the country offices that communicated need. With this generous donation of PPE, our country teams are able to spend more of their budgets on other programmatic and community needs.

“It was nice to be part of a project working with multiple countries to make sure the necessary PPE was in the hands of those who need it,” says Ryan Krueger, Pathfinder Administrative Coordinator, who was instrumental in getting the PPE out to our country offices.

So far, PPE has been delivered to eight countries in which we work; Bangladesh, Burundi, DRC, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda. The staff working out of these offices now have the supplies they need to stay safe and help stop the spread of COVID-19. The surgical and KN95 masks, contactless thermometers, disposable gloves, face shields, goggles, hand sanitizer, and protective gowns and coveralls, are being put to work immediately to ensure the health and safety of our staff and the communities we serve.
