Jimmy Nzau

Dr. Jimmy Nzau is Pathfinder’s Global Medical Director. Jimmy is a physician and global health practitioner with 16 years of experience at global, regional and national levels in both humanitarian and international development sectors. His experience spans social protection, education, though his specialization is SRHR with a focus on family planning, MCH, comprehensive abortion care, and adolescents.

Before joining Pathfinder, Jimmy worked as a senior leader at CARE International US for about ten years and led the implementation of RMNCH/FP initiatives in more than 20 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA and Asia. He has also led the development of CARE’s SRHR regional strategies in East, Central and Sub-Saharan Africa, West Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Most recently, he was Project Director of the Supporting Access to Family Planning and Post-Abortion Care regional program.

Jimmy graduated from the University of Kinshasa, School of Medicine, has an MPH from Emory University, Atlanta/Georgia and post-graduate diploma in health promotion from Nancy University/France. He is fluent in: French, English, Lingala, and Kikongo and has lived and worked in DRC, Chad and the US and is currently based in Atlanta. Outside of work, Jimmy is an avid reader, a soccer fan, and a movie lover.
