Lydia Murithi

Senior Global Technical and Strategy Advisor

Lydia Murithi is a social and behavioral scientist with over 15 years of experience as a global health researcher and program implementer. She has devoted her work to sexual and reproductive health and rights, maternal and child health, HIV & AIDS, and gender. Lydia has worked extensively in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and the United States. She joined Pathfinder in 2018 as the project director for our Beyond Bias project.

She brings extensive experience in project design, training and capacity building, data management and analysis, project monitoring and evaluation, and policy analysis. Prior to joining Pathfinder, she served as sexual and reproductive health specialist at ICRW. She also worked as a reproductive health researcher at the Center on Health Disparities (CoHD) in the Department of Family Medicine and Population Health at the VCU School of Medicine and at FHI360.

Lydia holds a PhD in public policy and administration with a special focus on maternal and child health policy from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has her MPP from George Mason University and her BA in economics and sociology from University of Nairobi.
