Country Director

Pamela Onduso is the Country Director for our Kenya Office and Global Advocacy Lead. She has over two decades of experience in reproductive health and family planning, program design, program management, advocacy, and policy development. She started at Pathfinder in 1991.

Pamela joined Pathfinder as a program officer in our Regional Office in Nairobi. She quickly rose through the ranks: first, she served as the regional coordinator of youth programs for sub-Saharan Africa; then the technical associate for adolescent sexual and reproductive health; then senior technical advisor for institutional capacity building and youth reproductive health; and most recently as a program advisor.

For four years, she supported our Africa Youth Alliance project in Uganda, Tanzania, Botswana, and Ghana. Then she provided support to Pathfinder’s family planning programs in Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia, Mozambique, Senegal, Ghana, and Ethiopia. In 1999, she co-wrote and helped implement the USAID-funded Community Based Population Health Integrated Assistance project and its follow-on, the AIDS, Population, and Health Integrated Assistance project, and later, APHIAPlus Nairobi-Coast. Since 2011, she has also been engaged in our population, health, and environment program design and implementation in Kenya and Uganda.

Pamela has her MPH, BSc, and Associate of Science from East Tennessee State University. She speaks English, KiLuhya, Kiswahili, and basic French.
