Without Fear or Boundary in Côte d’Ivoire

Civil war and political violence have taken a toll on Côte d’Ivoire’s health system—closing clinics and leaving people without services they need. Nearly 90% of married women ages 14-49 don’t use an effective method of contraception. In 2016, Pathfinder began working to change this.

We bring over 60 years of experience and state of the art approaches in sexual and reproductive health to our first project in Côte d’Ivoire. We know change starts here: Ivoirians of all ages must have the right to decide whether or when to have children and to lead the lives they choose. See how we make sure they can.

What We Do in Côte d’Ivoire

  • Make sure young people can access the sexual and reproductive health services they need and deserve, including contraception
  • Improve maternal and child health and uphold the rights of couples to space their births by making postpartum contraception available whenever it’s needed
  • Connect communities and health systems so women, men, and young people in Côte d’Ivoire receive the services they need and the quality of care they deserve
